Asus ET2400 All-in-One Desktop PC
Asus release new all-in-one desktop PC called Asus ET2400 with 23.6-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. You can have it powered by Intel or AMD processor, integrated or dedicated GPU using NVidia GeForce GTX Fermi or ATI Radeon HD4570/5470.
Also Asus ET2400 desktop pc has 2GB of RAM, up to 1TB of hard drive, also in several models you can find built-in tv tuner, blu-ray drive and touchscreen display. No price available yet and hopefully it will be available this year.
Acer S1 Series LED Backlit LCD Display
Acer release the new ultra-slim S1 series LCD display which ranging from only 13mm to 15mm. I though this is the slimmest LCD display with LED backlit in the world.
There are several models like 18.5-inch S191HQL, the 21-inch S221HQL and 23-inch S231HL model. This S1 Series LCD display has 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time, Acer eColor management technology, Acer Adaptive Contrast management, and eco-friendly EnergyStar 5.0 for low power consumption.
All of these Acer monitors has black bezel and glossy foot stand, printed circuits laminates, connector and internal cables for both system and panel. The price on UK market Acer S191HQL – £119.99, Acer S201HL – £129.99, Acer S221HQL – £159.99, Acer S231HL – £169.99.
Wooden Gear Kinetic Sculpture
Brett Dickins has uploaded a new video on the Mechanical Kinetic Art channel. We have featured some their moving sculptured before, this video features a number of sculptures, the first is 9 wooden gears that rotate around themselves. There is a motor driving the sculpture which looks like it must be connected to the center gear. I am assuming that the 8 outer gears are connected with a square frame since I am assuming that the center of the outer gear locations don’t change relative to each other. Given all the different models I am not quite sure which one is my favorite.

Super High Power LED – PT54 Phlatlight
Most of us have used high power LEDs in our projects. It’s getting quite common to see 1 Amp LEDs used for lighting applications. Even though when you normally think about LEDs you envision something that is cool to the tough these high current models need heat sinking to keep their die temperatures at bay. Our friend Carl from Sweden has been doing some experiments with a super high power LED that normally lives inside a Casio projector, it is knows as the PT54 Phlatlight. How much current does this pull you ask, a whopping 8 plus amps! Yes, this is the same Carl who normally works with lasers, seems like he is branching off into LEDs now…
